Execution by beheading of Qiu Jin for her revolutionary activities.
On 15 July 1907, Qiu Jin was executed by beheading in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, after being arrested and tortured for her involvement in a planned uprising against the Qing dynasty. Her execution was intended to serve as a warning to other revolutionaries. However, instead of dampening the spirit of reform, her martyrdom energized the movement for national transformation and gender equality in China.
