East Dix was renamed Grace Peak, honoring her legacy in the Adirondack High Peaks.
On June 12, 2014, a decade after her passing, the U.S. Board on Geographic Names officially approved the renaming of East Dix to Grace Peak, in homage to Grace Hudowalski's profound contributions to the Adirondack High Peaks community. This change was spearheaded by the Adirondack Forty-Sixers as a tribute to Grace's pioneering spirit and her role in promoting and preserving the Adirondack peaks. The renaming serves as a permanent reminder of her impact and a continuous inspiration to hikers who explore these historic trails.
