On September 16, 2015, it was announced that Jill Pipher had been elected to the inaugural class of Fellows of the American Mathematical Society (AMS), an honor designated for the year 2016. The AMS Fellows program, established to recognize members who have made outstanding contributions to the creation, exposition, advancement, communication, and utilization of mathematics, was a relatively new distinction at the time of Pipher's election.
