Jiang Qing entered the CCP Politburo in April 1969.
In April 1969, at the 9th National Congress of the CCP, Jiang Qing was elevated to the status of a full member of the Politburo. As one of only a few women to ever achieve this level of political power in China, Jiang's ascension marked a significant personal and political triumph, solidifying her influence over the Communist Party's direction during one of its most radical phases. Her position allowed her to exert greater control over cultural and political strategies throughout the late 1960s and 1970s.
